In this blog, we’ll take a closer look at some of the key Salesforce Summer ’25 Release updates for admins.

1. Easily Delete Custom Objects By Removing Relationships First

Have you ever tried deleting a custom object in Salesforce, only to be stopped because it’s linked to other objects? Salesforce has addressed this issue and made it easier to delete custom objects with the Summer ’25 release.

Now, when you try to delete a custom object and it’s still referenced by a standard object, another custom object, you’ll see a detailed page instead of just an error. This page shows a table listing all the related objects, along with their object API names and field API names.

The object API names are clickable, so you can jump straight to the object and remove the relationship yourself.

2. Dynamic Related Lists For Mobile (Beta)

Dynamic Related Lists are now available on mobile too, currently it is in Beta. If you want to try it out, navigate to Setup. In the Quick Find box, type “Salesforce Mobile App” and select it. Enable the option for Dynamic Related Lists for Mobile (Beta).

Before this update, the Dynamic Related List – Single component only worked on desktop lightning record pages. Now, you can use just one component across both desktop and mobile.

When you’re in Lightning App Builder, simply drag the Dynamic Related List – Single component onto the canvas and set it up in the properties pane. You can now switch the view to Phone or Tablet to see exactly how it’ll look on mobile.

3. Manage Included Permission Sets in the Permission Set Group Summary

You can now edit which permission sets are included in a permission set group directly from the summary view. Before this update, the information was read-only, so you had to take extra steps if you wanted to make changes.

This new update makes it much easier to take action while you’re reviewing a permission set group.

Go to Setup, select a permission set group and click View Summary. Under the Included Permission Sets tab, you’ll see options to add or remove permission sets.

4. Bulk Update Object Permissions for Custom Permission Sets or Profiles

You can now save time and effort by editing object access across all custom permission sets and profiles at once, without navigating to each page. Go to the Object Manager, open the access summary for a specific object and review, add or remove permissions as needed.

5. Update Object Permissions for All Custom Permission Sets or Profiles at Once

You can now edit user, object, field, and custom permissions directly from the permission set summary view. Previously, only limited edits were possible, but with this update, you have much more control in one place.

Navigate to Setup, select a permission set, click View Summary and update the permissions across the available tabs.

6. A Better Way to View and Manage User Permissions, Groups and Queues

Managing user access just became faster and more efficient. With the enhanced user access summary, you can easily view, add, or remove a user from multiple permission sets, groups and queues all in one place. No more digging through different pages

To check this feature from Setup, select a user and click the View Summary button.

7. Improved List Views Dropdown Menu

Salesforce has refreshed the dropdown menu you use to choose a list view, making it more user-friendly and consistent. Now, the list view dropdown across all objects is built using Lightning Web Components (LWC). The way users actually work within list views hasn’t changed, but you might notice a few updates in the dropdown itself.

In the past, this new menu style was only available for list views built with LWC, but now it’s extended to cover list views that were rendered with Aura.

One thing to keep in mind is that the dropdown can now display up to 100 list views. At the top of the menu, you’ll also see a section for your recent list views, along with a search bar to quickly find the list view you need.

If you have more than 100 list views, you can just type into the search bar to locate a specific one.

8. New Tab Section In Permission Set

With the Summer ’25 release, Salesforce has added a new Tabs section to the View Summary area in permission sets. Now, you can quickly see which tabs a user has access to or which tabs are included in a permission set or permission set group.

It is important to note that this section is read-only, so you can view the tab assignments, but you won’t be able to make any changes directly from this screen.

9. One Email Address to Send Dashboard Subscription Notifications

From the Salesforce Summer ’25 Release, there’s a new way to make your dashboard subscription emails more consistent and secure. You can now send them from an org-wide email address. This helps create a more professional look and lowers the chance of your emails being flagged as spoofed.

To turn this on, navigate to Setup by clicking the gear icon in the top right of your Salesforce org. In the Quick Find box, type “Reports” and select Reports and Dashboards Settings.

If you haven’t set up an org-wide email address yet, you can do that in the Org-Wide Addresses section in Setup.

10. Designate One Email Address to Send Report Subscription Notifications (Generally Available)

You can now create more consistent email communications and reduce the risk of being flagged as spoofed. Now, when sending report subscription emails, you can use an org-wide email address instead of the personal email of the user who created the report subscription.

To set this up, go to Setup by clicking the gear icon in your Salesforce org. In the Quick Find box, type “Reports,” and then click on Reports and Dashboards Settings. There, select “Enable Org-Wide Email Address for Report Subscription.”

After that, you’ll be able to pick the email address you want to use from a drop-down list.
