In this blog, we’ll explore the Top Salesforce Spring ’26 Release Updates For Admins, their practical applications, and how they enhance user experiences.
Salesforce releases are major updates that include new features, improvements, and fixes designed to enhance the platform. They happen three times a year: Spring, Summer, and Winter.
The pre-release org for the Salesforce Spring ’26 release is now available. You can sign up and explore all the new Flow features with hands-on practice by clicking here

1. Request Approval Component
With the Spring ’26 Salesforce release, you can now place the “Request Approval” component directly on Lightning record pages, making it easier to trigger autolaunched Flow Approval Processes right from the record itself.

Using Lightning App Builder, you can configure the component to let users choose the first approver and add comments while submitting the approval request. This keeps the entire approval experience more guided and user-friendly.
It is important to note that this component works only with Flow Approval Processes and does not support Classic Approval Processes.
2. Error Console in Lightning Experience
With the Spring ’26 Salesforce release, error handling in Lightning Experience becomes more user-friendly.
Salesforce has introduced the Error Console, which captures and displays component and page errors without interrupting your workflow. Non-fatal errors are quietly collected in the background, so you can review them later when it’s convenient.
Fatal errors still appear in modal dialogs that must be closed before moving ahead, but they’re also logged in the Error Console for easier troubleshooting.

To enable this feature, go to Setup, search for User Interface, open it, and turn on Use Error Console for error reporting in Lightning Experience under Advanced Settings.
As shown below, once the permission is enabled, click the gear icon in Lightning Experience and you’ll see the option to open the Error Console.

3. New Permission to Delete Salesforce Files
Salesforce has introduced a new permission called Delete Salesforce Files. Once this permission is assigned, users can delete any file they have access to view.

Previously, this action was limited to the file owner or a Salesforce administrator. To enable it, go to Setup -> Profiles or Permission Sets -> App Permissions and turn on Delete Salesforce Files for the required users.
4. List View Updates
List views built with Lightning Web Components (LWC) are now a bit smarter when it comes to inline editing.
You can no longer select or try to edit more than 200 records at once. Earlier, Salesforce would let you click the edit icon even if you selected more than 200 records and throw an error later when you tried to save your changes.
With the Spring ’26 release, instead of letting you proceed, Salesforce now clearly tells you that the changes can’t be saved.
5. New Shield App
The new Shield Experience brings everything, including Data Detect, Field Audit Trail, Platform Encryption, and Event Monitoring into one place. Salesforce now provides a central Shield app where you can access all Shield products and features easily. Just open the App Launcher, search for Shield, and select it. From there, you can switch to the tab of any Shield product you want to use.

6. Setup With Agentforce (Beta)
Salesforce is introducing a new agent-driven Setup experience that brings an AI assistant directly into Setup to make the Salesforce configuration more efficient and fast. With Setup with Agentforce, you can chat with the agent using natural language to perform tasks like creating objects and flows, managing user access, or troubleshooting formulas.
This feature will start rolling out in early January 2026.
To use Setup with Agentforce, users need the Use Setup with Agentforce and Execute Prompt Template permissions. They must also have access to the Data 360 default data space, along with the necessary permissions for the actions they want to perform.
To enable it, go to Setup, search for Agentforce, and turn on Setup with Agentforce (Beta). After enabling, refresh your browser. Before switching it on, make sure Data Cloud is set up in your org, generative AI is enabled, and Agentforce is turned on.
7. Disabled Connected App Button
Starting with the Spring ’26 Salesforce release, creating new Connected Apps is no longer allowed by default.
Salesforce has disabled the option to create new connected apps across all orgs to strengthen security and reduce potential risks associated with app-based access. The good news is that this change does not impact any existing connected apps. They will continue to work as they do today without any disruption.

Also, packaged connected apps that already exist and are deployed into a new org are not affected by this update.
